Fabric ABC
Recommendations for apropriate use of the upholstery

Just like any other daily use fabric, upholstery fabrics are also subject to continuous dust and contact soiling. For this reason, regular care and cleaning are essential in order to maintain the fabric in optimal conditions. Crevins principal aim is to offer a product that is resistant, long-lasting and of easy care. Therefore, almost all of our fabrics are machine washable. When washing or cleaning the sofa cover, please follow the instructions below carefully.

Customery Care

What to do
What must be avoided
REGULAR CLEANING
Vacuum the upholstery regularly with the
furniture nozzle on a low setting with a special care for piping and edges.

- Vigorous rubbing.
- Rubbing with abrasive
sponges or cloths.
- Vacuum at highest setting.

WASHING

- Wash the covers inside out with the zipper closed. If the cover uses hook and loop nylon fasteners instead, protect by attaching a piece
of cloth.
- Use neutral detergents.
- Wash at recommended temperature as
indicated in product information and always
with delicate cycle.
- Use low centrifugation cycle.

- Wash with bleach, whiteners
or abrasives.
- Use of softener.
- Wash together with other
clothes.
- Wash without protecting hook
and loop nylon fasteners.
- Wash when the cover is made
of two or more kinds of
different fabric.
- Load washing machine excessively.

DRYING
- With the cover still moist stretch in both directions.
- Dry at environmental temperature.
- Use of drier.
- Direct exposure to sunlight.

at the recommended temperature as indicated
in the product information.
- Iron microfibers and chenilles inside out.
- Iron at temperatures other than indicated.
- Iron directly upon the fabric.

- Treat sofa properly.
- Avoid severe use or straining.
- Expose sofa to direct sunlight
or strong artificial light.
- Place sofa closer than 50 cm
to any source of heat.
- Stand in the suite.
- Sit on the armrests.

Stains
Basically, all stains can be easily removed from our fabrics. For easy removal follow the instructions below.

Try to remove stains as soon as they occur.
Use an absorbent cloth, blotting the stain with circular movements starting from the periphery up to the centre.
Do not rub.
With oil- or liquid based stains, use absorbent paper and then a clean, humid and non-abrasive sponge to rapidly soak up the stain. Then clean with lukewarm water and a neutral hand detergent, rinsing away the soap with clear water.
Rub dry with a cloth and let dry at normal room temperature. If stains persist, consult the Stain Removal Recommendations in this website.
With stuck-on and crusted stains remove the excess of soiling material with a shovel, spoon or blunt knife and proceed as described in 3.
Do not pull or pluck on the fabric.
For solvent-based or other stains, consult the Stain Removal Recommendations in Crevins website www.crevin.com
When using a solvent, do not apply directly upon the stain but use a clean cloth, or apply first on a non-visible part of the sofa.
When using a stain-remover, eliminate remnants with a clean cloth and a soft brush, always brushing towards the pile.
Never sit on the upholstered furniture until covering is completely dry.
After drying, vacuum on lowest setting with the furniture nozzle of your vacuum cleaner. Cleaning instructions for leather surrogates

In case of any soil simply clean the surface with a soft and wet piece of cloth. Unlike with fabrics dirt can usually not penetrate this product deeply and therefore has not to be "deep cleaned". Should water be insufficient, e.g. in cases of colouration deriving from textiles such as Jeans, please use neutral soap or hand cleaning detergents only and rub gently without force. Wipe clean wet afterwards to avoid residues of cleaning substances.

Please do not use under any circumstance:

- hard sponges like pot cleaners or hard brushes
- dry cleaning agents, cleaning foams or sprays
- cleaning petrol
- bbc lighter liquids, alcohol, glass cleaners, or desinfectants
- aggressive and bleaching household cleaners containing chlorine
- solvent agent containing cleaners ( paintbrush cleaners or nail polish removers

Please be reminded that substances like hairspray may also be aggressive.

These substances can cause colour changes and may cause the leather surrogate to crack up.
